Most shade solutions are built for straight, flat walls, so Keith and Barb were told by other contractors that their only real option removing a portion of the home’s primary exterior wall to structurally integrate a new roofline. For the homeowners, this was a non-starter; they sought the utility of a covered space without the “major renovation” price tag or the disruption of a structural overhaul.
Beyond the tricky installation, the homeowners dealt with a completely open patio that was often blinding with direct sunlight, too windy, or completely unusable during frequent Ohio rainstorms. Because of the weather, this beautiful square footage sat empty for much of the year.
