Not many restaurants can offer both curbside and dockside pick-up, but the award-winning View Restaurant in Oakdale, New York can. Located on the Great South Bay, View offers both indoor and outdoor dining, as well as these two pick-up options. In fact, outdoor seating had become so popular, even pre-pandemic, that the owners decided to make some upgrades. Not only did they add 1,000-square-feet of additional al fresco dining space, but they covered the entire outdoor seating area with a Pergola X by StruXure. In addition to pivoting louvers that can be adjusted as the sun moves across the sky, for the perfect amount of shade and air flow, but the all-white system has been fitted with lights, eight heaters, and clear vinyl retractable screens to maximize patron comfort and views to the bay any time of year. The protected space can also be used for special events. The installation was unique given its proximity to coastal waters, requiring adherence to all coastal regulations, but the outcome was worth it and has been a hit with customers since it opened in November 2020.
