While some dream of retirement, others just aren’t cut out for it. Such was the case for a major real estate developer in Las Vegas who had devoted his life to serving his community through designing significant projects—banks, condominiums, a hospital, other medical facilities, and more—and was finding it difficult to step away. To ease into the idea of spending more time at home, he and his partner created an idyllic sanctuary that included a large house, an outdoor kitchen and lounge, a separate spa building, and a fantastic T-shaped pool. The only thing missing was shade! In order to tie their vision together, they enlisted the help of Home Impressions, who helped design and install a multi-zone pergola along the back of the house, with a more expansive series of louvered zones over the outdoor bar, dining table, and lounge. The robust pivoting-louvered system creates a fully-covered pathway from the main house to the spa, and the perfect framework for dramatic lighting.
